The Letters of the Sorrento Peninsula doc is a lively red wine of long tradition whose grapes are grown in the town of Lettere in very small plots. It is produced with several native vines, most of which are cultivated only in this territory. It shares the same doc and the same vines with Gragnano but the vineyards are higher up and have a different exposure than those present in Gragnano and these aspects make these wines different and in some ways unique.
An ancient competition contrasts the two wines and the peasants of the two countries. The peasants of Lettere, whose streets were formerly more impervious, have always maintained that the wine of letters was for the most refined palates, in fact it was for the most tireless traders who walked the steep mountain paths without any fear.
Even the Letters should be served cold and goes well with the true Neapolitan Pizza and the traditional dishes.
