Sara Vezza, 5th generation winemaker and daughter of Josetta Saffirio, firmly believes that Barolo is Wine of Kings and King of Wines. From their first acquisition of vines in the 1940’s to the hand-painted labels designed by Josetta in 1985, Josetta Saffirio is a house of pioneers, blending modern and traditional viticulture practices to create a wine of ultimate quality that is deeply respectful of the land it’s cultivated on.
Located in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Josetta Saffirio is a Certified Sustainable and Certified Organic winery focusing on solutions such as solar generation, reduction of CO2 emissions, organic/biodynamic viticulture, and a natural integration with the hillsides they call home. The most recent cellar design includes a natural cork insulation, which reduces the heat exchange and lessens the overall energy consumption during the winemaking process. Most famous for their Barolo, Josetta Saffirio also cultivates true and unique Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Rossese Bianco with the vision to pass the terroir and the health of the land onto the next generation.
